Where to stay in Ios...
We will be flying to Santorini from Manchester on Wednesday 6th August. On that day, we will travel to Ios and stay in a hotel for 1 night. We will then stay at Cycladic Gem Villa, with our families, for 7 nights until the 14th August.
Cycladic Gem Villa is located less than one kilometre from the main village of Ios, Chora. It also overlooks the main beach, Mylopotas. There are many places to stay around this area for varying budgets. Below are a few options you may wish to consider that have been recommended; however, the choice is yours!
Ios Boutique Hotel
Close to Mylopotas Beach, the Levantes Ios Boutique Hotel is an elegant property. The swimming pool boasts comfortable beach beds, there is a cocktail bar on-site, massages are available upon request and some suites even boast their own private pools!
Hotel Petradi
This hotel will seduce you with its idyllic Aegean Sea view, its high-quality services and its friendly owners. The breath-taking view and the magical Cycladic sunsets that you will enjoy from your balcony, as well as the simple yet elegant feeling of our hotel are a great combination of enjoyment and relaxation. Hotel Petradi is located between the Chora of Ios and the famous Mylopotas beach. It is built high up and in several levels. It retains the traditional architecture of the island's colours and by having its privileged panoramic location as an ally, it can offer you a dreamy stay.
Marcos Beach Hotel
Overlooking the famous Mylopotas beach, on the western side of beautiful Ios, Marcos Beach Hotel offers peaceful and comfortable accommodation, ideal for families and couples, a few minutes away from the picturesque main town of the island, Chora.

Ios PalaceWe stayed here for 4 nights in August and loved it! Ios Palace is set on a hill and overlooks Mylopotas Beach, so if you are looking for a beach holiday then it's ideal! The hotel has two pools, with ample space, and beautiful views. It provides a great breakfast and there is an onsite spa. The area of Mylopotas becomes quiet around 10/11pm but a bus to the main Chora runs until midnight and is a 2 minute walk from the hotel, costing around 2 euros.
Lofos Village Hotel
Lofos Village Hotel is another hotel we stayed at and thoroughly enjoyed - we would definitely recommend. However, the location is different to Ios Palace, as it is located in the Chora, so it depends on the type of holiday you are looking for!
Lofos Village is a small, family-run hotel which overlooks the Chora, which is the main town. Mylopotas Beach is around 1.5km away but regular bus services are available. The hotel itself is quiet, clean and has a great chilled vibe to it. We stayed in a room with panoramic view and would definitely recommend this - watching the sunset over the Chora was definitely a highlight of our stay there!
The hotel has a pool and the hotel manager couldn't do enough for us.

Hotel Katerina is perfectly situated at Mylopotas, Ios Island.
